Posted on Friday, November 8, 2013 1:20pm

A 50 acre plus brushfire is burning in San Luis Obispo County, between Morro Bay and Atascadero, and is still out of control.

The blazed started around ten this morning, off of Highway 41.

There’s no word of any structures being threatened, but Cal Fire has structure protection in place for the scattered homes in the rugged mountain area.

No evacuations have been ordered.  There is one road closure: Morro Creek Road, at Summit Road is only open to residents.

Helicopters, and air tankers are being used to fight the fire, with about 200 firefighters now working the blaze.

The cause is under investigation.
