One person is behind bars, and a second is still being sought following a robbery, stabbing, and two county car chase on the Central Coast.
Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s detectives say it started just after midnight yesterday, when a man was robbed, and stabbed on the Chumash reservation in the Santa Ynez Valley. The Nipomo man staggered into the Chumash Casino, where he received help.
Responding deputies were unable to find the suspects at the scene, but just before six last night, spotted their vehicle on East Donovan Road in Santa Maria. The driver refused to stop, and it led to a chase with speeds topping 100 miles an hour. The vehicle left Highway 101 in Grover Beach, and smashed into a parked vehicle at 4th Avenue, and Park View. Cherie Rodriguez of Arroyo Grande was arrested. But, authorities are still looking for Osvaldo Hernandez of Santa Maria, who led on foot. They describe him as a dangerous gang member.
The stabbing victim was seriously injured, but is expected to recover.
