Authorities Identify Oxnard Man They Believe Was Killed By Teenager

Posted on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 11:26am

Authorities are now identifying an Oxnard man police think was murdered by a teenager over the weekend.

Alfonso Esparza was found dead in his home on the 1100 block of South L Street Saturday night.

The Ventura County Medical Examiner’s office says Esparza died from blunt force trauma.

Several hours after the body of the 49 year old man was discovered by a roommate, police arrested a 17 year old boy for the killing.

Investigators say the suspect, and victim knew each other, but detectives aren’t talking about what kind of connection they had, or possible motives.
