Two people are behind bars today after a carjacking, and wild chase which topped speeds of 60 miles an hour on residential streets in Ventura County.
It started at about 9 last night, when a woman driving her pickup truck in the Victoria Road Avenue area became involved in an argument with a passenger.
Police say the passenger, identified as Denise Morales of Santa Paula, attacked the driver, forcing the victim to stop the truck, and flee.
Police were unable to find Morales, or the truck at the time.
Around 2:30 this morning, a Santa Paula Police officer spotted the stolen truck, but it sped away when a traffic stop was attempted.
It led to a chase on Highway 126, the 101 Freeway, onto surface streets in West Ventura, and then into Oxnard.
The truck finally stopped near Pleasant Valley, and Saviers Road.
Ventura Police say they arrested Jason Castillo of Santa Paula, who they say was driving the stolen truck, as well as Denise Morales, who’s accused of carjacking it.
The two are facing a variety of charges stemming from the incident.
No one was seriously injured.
