A barroom brawl led to the arrest of an Oxnard man, after police say he punched one of the officers arriving on the scene to break up the confrontation.
Oxnard Police were called to a bar on the 400 block of East Main Street just before 1 a.m. yesterday, by reports of people fighting with the bar’s security guards. They arrived to find several people fighting, with the confrontation drifting from the bar to nearby Oak Street.
Officers say Angel Ramirez of Oxnard punched an officer in the face. The officer was treated for minor injuries at the scene. The 28 year old man was taken to a hospital for the treatment of injuries he received in the confrontation, and then arrested for assaulting a police officer.
