Santa Barbara, Ventura County Researchers Working To Solve Mystery Of Giant Fish Washing Up On Beaches

Posted on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 7:50am

Some South Coast researchers are trying to help unravel a mystery off the Southern California coastline that’s grabbed international headlines.

Not one, but two extremely rare fish that can grow to more than dozens of feet long have washed up in less than a week on Southland beaches.

A UCSB researcher, and a Ventura County lab are now going to analyze samples from one of the oarfish, to try to help us learn more about the mysterious fish.

KCLU’s Lance Orozco has the story.
