Santa Barbara County Supervisors have chosen a Northern California government executive as their new CEO.
Mona Miyasato is expected to take over the county’s top non-elected post this coming December. She’s currently Marin County’s Chief Assistant County Administrator, a post she’s held since 2008.
Before her tenure there, Miyasato worked in various post for the City of Santa Monica for a decade, including Deputy City Manager.
Supervisors reached a tentative agreement with Miyasato for the County Executive Officer’s job, and are expected to formally ratify it at their October 8th meeting.
She will replace Chandra Waller, who’s been Santa Barbara County’s CEO since November of 2010. Waller’s contract was not renewed, and she’s leaving the post at the end of this month. Supervisors are expected to appoint an interim CEO to fill in during the gap between executives.
