Gusty wind conditions on the Central Coast have prompted the issuance of an air quality watch for the Santa Maria area.
The Santa Barbara County Public Health Department, and the Santa Barbara County Air Pollution Control District called the watch. It means there are high levels of dust in the air which could affect everyone, especially people with heart or lung disease. People with medical issues, senior citizens, and children should limit their time outdoors, and limit outside exercise while the watch is in effect.
With wind in the forecast for the region for the next few days, the watch is in effect through the weekend.
