Man Enters Guilty Pleas To Charges From Santa Barbara County Car Surfing Incident Which Killed One, Seriously Injured One

A man entered guilty pleas to charges from a car surfing incident in Santa Barbara County in which one of the people riding on top of the hood of a SUV was killed, and the second seriously injured.

The CHP says Lanie Tyrone Richardson was driving faster than 70 miles an hour when the accident occurred on East Valley Road in Montecito June 6th.

26 year old Allison Meadows died, and 25 year old Lindsay Keebler was seriously injured.

The 29 year old man entered guilty pleas to charges of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, inflicting great bodily injury, having a prior felony conviction, and driving on a suspended license.

As a result of the plea deal, Richardson is expected to receive a 14 year prison sentence.
