State Legislators Work With Governor For Emergency Erosion Repair Funding for Port Hueneme

Posted on Friday, September 6, 2013 7:42am

With only a few days left in the state legislature’s 2013 session, some lawmakers on the South Coast are racing the calendar to get a proposal together to help a Ventura County community being hit hard by coastal erosion.

Port Hueneme leaders say they’ve already spent a half million dollars on emergency work to protect sidewalks, streets, and other infrastructure, but need millions more from the state for work to prepare the city’s coastline for fall, and winter storms.

KCLU’s Lance Orozco has an update on the situation.
