An envelope sent to the offices of a school district in Ventura County caused a big scare.
Authorities were called to the Moorpark School District offices just before 3 p.m. Friday, when staff members realized an envelope contained some type of a powdery substance.
A hazardous materials team was called to the offices, on the 5200 block of Maureen Lane, to deal with the powder. Preliminary tests showed it wasn’t a hazardous material.
Investigators are trying to determine what the substance is, and who sent it.
