Simi Valley Pharmacist Charged With Selling Drugs Without Valid Prescriptions

Posted on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 4:00pm

A Ventura County pharmacist has been arrested, after investigator say he was selling prescription drugs without valid prescriptions.

The Ventura County Interagency Pharmaceutical Crimes Unit investigated Kent Miles for about three months before arresting him.  They say the 60 year old man, who owns Home Care Pharmacy in Simi Valley, sold Fentanyl on numerous occasions without proper prescriptions.  Investigators say the pharmacy was filling prescriptions from multiple doctors without insuring they were for proper medical purposes.

Task force officials say the Simi Valley man surrendered the pharmacy’s DEA registration, which eliminated its ability to dispense controlled substances.  They also seized all controlled substances from the pharmacy.
