Santa Barbara County Brush Fire Reported To Be At Five Acres; Homes No Longer Threatened

Firefighters are battling a brush fire in Santa Barbara County which is burning in the Cebada Canyon area, outside of Lompoc.

The fire broke out at around 2:45, in a brushy area about six miles northeast of Lompoc.  It’s just north of Highway 246.

The fire is reported to be about five acres.

The County Fire Department has ground units, and aircraft on scene.

The fire was initially reported to be threatening some homes, but firefighters say the homes are no longer in danger.

There’s no word of any evacuations.
