Firefighters now have the upper hand on a brush fire in Santa Barbara County burning in the Cebada Canyon area, outside of Lompoc.
The fire broke out at around 2:45, in a brushy area about six miles northeast of Lompoc.
It’s just north of Highway 246.
The fire is reported to have burned around 10 acres.
The County Fire Department has ground units, and aircraft on scene.
The fire was initially reported to be threatening some homes, but firefighters say the homes are no longer in danger.
Firefighters are now in mop up mode at the scene.
There’s no word on the fire’s cause.
