Progress Made Towards Reopening State Beach Campground On South Coast Closed Due To Flooding

We’re moving into the final few weeks of summer vacation, and despite the efforts of some local, and state officials, it looks like a popular South Coast campground which was flooded won’t be open for the peak season.

But, efforts to drain the water from McGrath State Beach, in Ventura County are almost complete, and at least some of the 177 campsites may reopen this fall.

KCLU’s Lance Orozco has an update on the problem which officials think they’re solving with a unique, environmentally friendly approach which tries to protect an endangered species of fish.
