Man Assaulted While Trying To Stop Thief Removing Name Lettering From Ventura Apartment Complex

Posted on Monday, August 12, 2013 10:26am

A Ventura man is recovering from injuries he suffered after he was attacked while trying to stop someone from removing the metal lettering from the exterior of an apartment complex.

The man noticed someone trying to remove the letters just before 2 a.m. Saturday, off of Portola Road.

When he tried to stop the thief, he was struck several times with a metal object.  The attacker then fled, leaving the letters behind.

The assault victim was taken to a hospital, where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Yesterday, police arrested Michael Parson of Ventura for the attack.  The 44 year old man was booked for assault, and a parole violation.
