San Luis Obispo County Supervisors Struggling With Water Issues In North County

Posted on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 3:29pm

San Luis Obispo County is trying to figure out how to handle major water concerns in its North County.

County Supervisors are looking at how to cope with major drops in groundwater in the Paso Robles area.

Some wells have gone dry, and there have been calls for limits on agriculture use, which has alarmed vintners in the region.

County staff members are drawing up two proposed emergency ordinances to limit additional water usage, one focused on the regional groundwater basin, and one focused on the hardest hit area, east of Paso Robles.

County Supervisors are planning to consider the proposals August 27th.
