The Endangered Species Act is supposed to help protect plants, and animals on the brink of extinction.
During it’s now four decade long history, it’s had a remarkable history of helping to keep some rare parts of nature from disappearing.
But, a UC Santa Barbara researcher says we’re not going far enough, in that while we are saving endangered species from extinction, we aren’t taking steps to get them to the point where they are no longer threatened.
