There’s shock, and sadness over the death of a well know South Coast leader.
Former Oxnard City Attorney Alan Holmberg passed away over the weekend, as the result of an undisclosed illness.
He worked for more than 25 years for the City of Oxnard, retiring just two weeks before his death.
Holmberg provided contract services to the city for years, and in 2000, joined the city as Assistant City Attorney. In 2008, he became City Attorney.
Mayor Tim Flynn said it was hard to put into words what Holmberg’s passing means to the city, noting that he was an official who always had the city’s best interests in mind.
