Environmental Group Calls For Los Padres National Forest, Other Key Areas To Be Protected From Oil And Gas Drilling

A new report from a national environmental group says the Los Padres National Forest is one of 11 areas nationwide which is too important to allow new oil, and gas drilling.

The Washington, D.C. based group called “The Wilderness Society” named the national forest seventh on its list of 12 areas it calls “Too Wild To Drill.”

The group says many of the areas on its list contain endangered, and threatened species.

Arches National Park, in Utah topped the list of parks which could be opened to new drilling, but that the non-profit is trying to raise public support to protect.
