Community Groups Join Forces To Renovate Ventura County Veterans Memorial

Posted on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 11:35am

Some community groups, business, and unions are joining forces to renovate, and expand Ventura County’s veterans memorial.

A coalition including Veterans of Foreign Wars groups, the IBEW union, and some local construction businesses are donating $35,000 worth of materials, like five new flagpoles, as well as labor for the project at the Ventura County Government Center.

General Services Agency Director Paul Grossgold says there will also be new lighting, and landscaping.

The existing veterans memorial is about 30 years old, so the project is intended to upgrade it, and improve its prominence at the County’s Government Center.
