South Coast Researcher Part Of Team Which Discovers Previously Unknown Species Of Clam Living Off Region’s Coastline

Posted on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 12:15am

A South Coast researcher has completed a more than two decade long quest, leading to the discovery of what he calls a small, alien like animal living in the ocean.

Paul Valentich-Scott is part of a team of three researchers which has identified an unusual species of clam that lives right off our coastline.

The clams are so small, you could put a full grown one on top of a quarter, with room to spare.
