CHP investigators believe alcohol was a factor in a fatal traffic accident southeast of Lompoc, which took the life of a young woman.
A vehicle was found overturned off of Highway One, on Santa Rosa Road early this morning.
Investigators think the female driver lost control of the VW bug, and drifted onto the right shoulder.
They believe she then over-corrected across the road, hitting an embankment, and flipping the vehicle.
The 24 year old Lompoc woman wasn’t wearing a seat belt, and died at the scene. Her name hasn’t been released yet.
It’s unclear as to when the accident happened, with officers saying it was sometime between 11 p.m. Wednesday, and six this morning on the lightly travelled road.
