A former Santa Barbara man has been charged with abusing five children in San Bernardino County, and officials in Santa Barbara County say they are now investigating whether he may be responsible for some similar crimes in our area, because of his connection to some preschools.

San Bernardino County Sheriff’s detectives arrested Paul Hultman of Apple Valley, after four girls between the ages of 12 and 15, and an eight year old boy told them the 56 year old man abused them in exchange for gifts and money.

Hultman had been married in the mid-2000′s to the owner of the Sherwood Montessori School, and the Sherwood Montessori House of Children in Santa Barbara.  He left the area in 2007.  Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s detectives say they are trying to determine if he might have victimized some children in our area.
