A $450,000 dollar project to renovate an animal shelter on the Central Coast is complete.
The Lompoc Animal Shelter has undergone major work to improve its facilities for animals, and the public. The facility is based at a converted single family home, and didn’t fully comply with the requirements of the Americans With Disabilities Act until now.
The project was paid for with a combination of county, and City of Lompoc funding, as well as a number of donations. The shelter serves more than 1300 dogs and cats a year.
In honor of the renovation, the name of the shelter has been changed to give it a new feel. It’s being called La Purisima Animal Welfare Services.
