Ventura County firefighters say they’re getting the upper hand on what’s being called a 45 acre brush fire burning outside of Fillmore.
The blaze was first discovered just after 3:30 this afternoon, in the hills about a mile east of the city. More than 75 firefighters aided by air tankers, and helicopters were able to stop the spread of the fire in about 90 minutes.
It’s expected firefighters will be on scene all night, mopping up the blaze. No structures were threatened. There’s no word on the cause of the fire.
