Program Helping South Coast Hispanic College Students Improve Math, Science Skills

Posted on Thursday, June 13, 2013 7:35am

A program is helping Hispanic, and low income college students in Ventura, and Santa Barbara Counties improve their chances of success in the science, and math fields.

The federally funded “Project ACCESO” gives some students from local colleges the opportunity to attend a three week long summer institute at Cal State Channel Islands.

They get hands on research experience, which is also intended to help them develop their critical thinking, and analytical reasoning skills.

KCLU’s Lance Orozco has the story, from Camarillo.
