Tight state funding which meant a sewer line couldn’t be repaired almost led to the indefinite closure of a popular state park on the South Coast.
The community, the state, and federal agencies railled, and raised the money to make the repairs, and keep McGrath State beach in Ventura open.
But this spring, it didn’t open as usual, because the annual flooding which inundates its more than 170 campsites didn’t drain as normal.
