Two Ventura County Men Arrested For Commercial Burglary In Santa Barbara County

Posted on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 12:18am

Two Ventura County men are facing a number of criminal charges, after Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s deputies say they burglarized a Hope Ranch construction site.

Security company workers monitoring a surveillance camera noticed suspicious activity at the property on the 4300 block of Marina Drive early Sunday morning.

They called deputies, but the men fled the area by the time the officers reached the scene.

However, less than a half hour later another deputy noticed a van matching the description of the one used by the burglars parked in Carpinteria. A search of the van turned up a number of burglary tools.

Robert Donohue of Santa Paula, and Joseph Espinoza of Ventura were taken into custody on charges ranging from conspiracy to commit burglary, to drug possession.
