Man Wanted In Connection With Homicide in Ventura Surrenders

Ventura Police say a man suspected of shooting someone to death this morning surrendered peacefully.

Police were called to the 300 block of Hurst Avenue at around 5:30 this morning, by reports of gunfire. The found a person with multiple gunshot wounds, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Ventura Police detective say they identified Cornell Allen, Junior as a suspect in the killing. Investigators say they started a search for the 35 year old man, but that he surrendered at about 2:30 this afternoon

The name of the apparent homicide victim hasn’t been released.
