Five Probation Officers Injured While Trying To Arrest Parolee In Ventura County

Posted on Thursday, June 6, 2013 10:28am

Five probation officers were injured, as they tried to arrest an Oxnard man on a parole violation charge.

It happened at about four Tuesday afternoon, at a probation officer’s office on the 1400 block of Vanguard Way in Oxnard.

Oxnard Police say Nicomedes Jose Watts had been involved in a domestic violence incident, and was on probation, when he was named as a suspect in a vandalism incident.

The probation officers were waiting for the 26 year old man as he arrived for a scheduled visit to his probation officer.

They say he tried to flee, and there was a struggle, with five officers injured, including two with moderate injuries.
Watts was finally subdued and arrested, suffering minor injuries in the process.
