Firefighters say they’ve stopped a brush fire which caused a big scare in Ventura County Thursday.
The fire was first discovered just before 4 p.m., on the 5000 block of Los Angeles Avenue in Simi Valley. No homes were threatened, but the fire quickly spread from around an acre to 30 acres.
More than 100 firefighters, aided by aircraft were able to stop the fire at 50 acres burned. No homes were damaged. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
