Brushfire In Santa Barbara County Now 90% Contained

Posted on Thursday, May 30, 2013 12:35am

Firefighters say the White Brush Fire, which has burned more than 1900 acres of land in Santa Barbara County, is now 90% contained.

There was very little expansion of the fire yesterday, as firefighters spent much of the day building fire lines. With hot, dry weather in the forecast for this coming weekend, they’re trying to get full containment as soon as possible.

The blaze began Monday afternoon in the White Day use area. No homes were destroyed by the fire, which is burning in the Los Padres National Forest.
