A series of earthquakes has rocked Santa Barbara County.
The U.S. Geological Survey says a magnitude 4.6 quake struck at 7:38 this morning. It was centered four miles west of Isla Vista, and about 12 miles northwest of downtown Santa Barbara. No injuries were reported, but the quake knocked items off of some shelves. People reported feeling the quake as far away as the San Fernando Valley.
At 7:50, a second, smaller quake occurred in the same area west of Isla Vista. It was reported as a magnitude 2.6 temblor. At 8:30, there was a third quake, which was the same magnitude as the second one, 2.6.
