Three Accused Of Using Counterfeit Credit Cards, Stealing Thousands From Ventura County Department Stores

Posted on Saturday, May 18, 2013 12:05am

Detectives say they’ve arrested three people they believed used counterfeit credit cards to steal more than $100,000 in merchandise from “Target” department stores throughout Southern California, including some in Ventura County.

The Simi Valley Police investigators say a four month long investigation in cooperation with the U.S. Secret Service, the U.S. Postal Service, Immigrations and Customs Enforcement, and Target led to a pair of raids in Los Angeles Thursday.

They say they arrested Ryan Gomez, Samantha Westby, and Johnny Williams Junior of Los Angeles, and seized counterfeit cards, along with stolen personal information from victims throughout the United States.

The cards were used locally at Target stores in Oxnard, Camarillo, Thousand Oaks and Simi Valley.
