Springs Fire Now 95% Contained; Full Containment Now Projected For Tomorrow

Firefighters say they are getting closer, but that mop-up work is taking longer than projected, and full containment of the Springs Brush Fire now won’t come until tomorrow.

The containment figure is at 95% this morning. The fire command is demobilizing additional crews, with the total now still involved at just over 400.

15 homes were damaged by the blaze, and eight firefighters suffered minor injuries. At iyts peak, an estimated 4,000 homes were threatened by the blaze, which blackened 28,000 acres of land.
