Outbreak Of Canine Distemper Leads To Warning For Dogs Owners In Santa Barbara County

Santa Barbara County Animal Services officials are issuing a warning to dog owners in the region about an outbreak of canine distemper.

Five dogs have been diagnosed in the county with the highly contagious viral illness.

There’s concern that the illness may have already spread to more dogs in the county.

KCLU’s Lance Orozco reports officials are calling on dog owners, especially those with puppies, to insure their pets are vaccinated against the potentially fatal illness.
