Posted on Monday, April 8, 2013 5:25am

A Ventura County community could finalize the hiring of a new City Manager tonight.

The Simi Valley City Council is scheduled to act on a contract proposal to hire Eric Levitt as its new top non-elected city official.

Levitt is currently the City Manager of Janesville, Wisconsin.

He signed a contract calling for a $200,000 a year base salary with Simi Valley, but the City Council still has to give its final approval.

The Council selected Levitt from a field of more than 60 candidates to replace Mike Sedell, who retired last year after 17 years as City Manager. If the City Council moves as expected to approve the deal tonight, the 45 year old man will start his new job in mid-May.
