Orange County Leaning Towards Hiring Santa Barbara County CEO

Posted on Friday, March 22, 2013 12:53am

Orange County wants to hire Santa Barbara County’s CEO, but can’t agree on what she should be paid.

Orange County Supervisors indicated this week that they favored appointing Chandra Wallar with a two year contract, but the discussion stalled when it came to determining, and approving a salary. The situation could remain up in the air for the next few weeks, because the county’s supervisors aren’t scheduled to meet again until April 16th. Waller informed Santa Barbara County Supervisors earlier this month that she was talking to Orange County.

Orange County is the sixth largest county as far as population is concerned in the nation. The county has been without a permanent CEO since the resignation of Tom Mauk last summer.
