Thieves have been targeting the vehicles of some people working in agricultural fields in Ventura County.
Ventura County Sheriff’s Department detectives say since the first of the year, people have been breaking into vehicles parked near fields in the Oxnard, and Somis areas, and stealing everything from wallets, and purses to cell phones. They’ve even stolen some of the vehicles. At keast a half dozen incidents have been reported.
In many cases, the thieves broke into the cars and pickup trucks, although in some instances, the owners made it easy by not locking the vehicles, and leaving keys inside.
