Santa Barbara County Looking At Cutting The Equivalent Of More Than 50 Full Time Positions To Balance Next Budget

Santa Barbara County is going to be facing some difficult decisions in the next few months.

Firefighters, Sheriff’s deputies, and health care jobs could be among those on the chopping block as the county tries to cover a projected ten million dollar plus budget shortfall for next fiscal year.

County officials say services will definitely have to be reduced, but the question is which ones.

KCLU’s Lance Orozco reports Santa Barbara County Supervisors are just starting to wrangle with the possibility of cutting the equivalent of more than 50 full time positions.
