One person was hurt when a vehicle slammed into a commercial and residential building in Ventura, leaving parts of the structure unsafe for use.
The vehicle crashed into the building on the 1100 block of Seaward Avenue at around 9:15 last night. By the time police and firefighters reached the scene, the vehicle and its occupants had fled the scene. A fire marshal determined a first floor restaurant was unusable, and that only limited access was safe for a second floor housing unit.
Firefighters then discovered a man had been injured in the accident, but had walked to a business down the street. After being treated at the scene, he was taken to a hospital for further evaluation.
