A movie executive who worked with some of Hollywood’s biggest names for decades has died in Ventura County.

Robert Relyea passed away from natural causes at a Thousand Oaks hospital. He started as a production crew member in the mid-1950’s, but was soon working as an assistant director on films like “Jailhouse Rock” and “The Magnificent Seven”.

Relyea became an independent producer, before joining Paramount as a production executive.

He went on to become the vice president, and then president of production for MGM/UA.

During his tenure there, the studio produced hits like the James Bond movie “Die Another Day”, and the comedy “Get Shorty.”

Robert Relyea was 82 years old.
