Riverside County prosecutors have now filed murder, and attempted murder charges against Christopher Dorner, the former LAPD officer sought for the murders of three people, and wounding of two others in Southern California last week.
The charges were filed as the result of an attack on two Riverside Police officers which killed one, and seriously wounded a second. Another charges was filed over the wounding of an LAPD officer the same day last week in Corona. The charges include allegations of special circumstances, which could potentially make the 33 year old man eligible for the death penality.
Meanwhile, search efforts in the Big Bear area, where Dorner’s burned out truck was discovered last Thursday, have been scaled down.
Investigators say Dorner’s victims include a former Ventura County couple murdered in Irvine February 3rd. They think Dorner shot to death Keith Lawrence and Monica Quan at their Irvine apartment complex, as revenge for Quan’s father’s involvement in his firing from the LAPD in 2008.
