Ventura County Woman Arrested On Charges She Used Identity Of Her Deceased Grandmother

Posted on Friday, January 25, 2013 3:49pm

A Ventura County woman has been arrested on burglary, and identity theft charges after Simi Valley Police say she was improperly using the bank account of her recently deceased grandmother.

Detectives say they began an investigation in October into the possible fraudulent use of the dead woman’s debit card, which had been used to withdraw money from her account, and make a number of purchases. The administrator of the woman’s estate hadn’t had the opportunity to closer the accounts yet.

Yesterday, they arrested 29 year old Crystal Bittner of Simi Valley. The investigators say she out of jail on bail for some pending drug related charges.
