Four Hurt When Car Crashes Into Oxnard Drug Store

Posted on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 10:47am

Four people were hurt when a driver lost control of his car, and it crashed into an Oxnard drug store.

Police say a 71 year old man was driving his car through a parking lot on the 3000 block of Saviers Road yesterday afternoon when he failed to stop in a parking spot, and crashed through the front window of the store.

Three people in the building suffered moderate injuries, including one customer who was pinned by the vehicle. The driver escaped with minor injuries.

Drug store officials say they were lucky, because it’s normally much busier than it was when the accident occurred yesterday, but the holiday may have reduced normal foot traffic.

Investigators are trying to determine why the driver lost control, and crashed, but say alcohol may have been a factor.
