Pulitzer Prize Winning Author Speaking At UCSB, UCLA Talks About What Modern Societies Can Learn From Traditional Cultures

He’s traveled the globe for decades, exploring societies where people have been living the same lifestyles for thousands of years.

Pulitzer Prize winning author Jared Diamond says while we may be advanced in many ways, there are also things to be learned from what he calls traditional societies.

Diamond has written a new book about the subject, and is speaking at two different universities in the region this month, including UC Santa Barbara tomorrow.

KCLU’s Lance Orozco talks with the researcher, and author.

Jared Diamond will speak at UCSB’s Campbell Hall Saturday, January 12th at 3 p.m. Tickets are limited for the UCSB Arts And Lectures event.

Diamond will speak at UCLA’s Royce Hall on Tuesday, January 22nd at 7 p.m., in an event sponsored by Friends of the Semel Institute. Tickets are free, but reservations are required. For more information go to: friendsofnpi.org
