The Oxnard City Council could decide tonight on how it will fill a vacancy created by one of its members being elected mayor last November.
The council can appoint someone, or hold a special election to fill the post left open by Councilman Tim Flynn’s election as mayor. City Council members discussed the issue last month, with indications they might decide to hold a special election.
Flynn’s council term run until the fall of 2014.
If the council decides to go the special election route to fill the post, the election would be on June 4th.
