Posted on Friday, December 14, 2012 1:11pm

Two people are behind bars after a wild car chase through the Goleta, Santa Barbara, and Carpinteria areas, which hit 110 miles an hour at times.

It started just before 9 last night, at the 101 Freeway/Los Carneros offramp in Goleta. A car pulled up next to a CHP patrol unit on the offramp. When the driver saw the officer, he decided to speed away.

The driver got onto the 101 Freeway, then off onto surface streets in Goleta, and then back onto the freeway, finally ending when the two people abandoned the vehicle in Carpinteria. They were quickly taken into custody.

Driver Jordan Budu of Simi Valley, and passenger Jessica Clark of Newbury Park were arrested on charges which included felony reckless evading, being under the influence of a controlled substance, and possession of stolen items.
