Judge Rejects Efforts To Block Oxnard Condominium Complex Over Environmental Concerns

A Ventura County judge rejected an effort to block a proposed new condominium complex in Oxnard over environmental concerns.

A group challenged the city’s approval of a five building, 70 unit complex at the corner of Harbor Boulevard, and Wooley Road.

Opponents contended that issues like density, noise, and aesthetics had not been properly considered by the city, but the judge denied their petition.

A 1988 deal had transferred development rights to the site from 22 beachfront parcels, with the city in effect keeping the oceanfront land open space forever in exchange for allowing the development just inland.
